When I was young I roamed around the stories others told
Of gods and goodbyes
Of passing feuds
Ghosts and fjords
I rode asphalt trains
Wrote poetry above ancient stream beds
I communed with the Megalodon
Koyunbaba
I haunted myself before I woke
In my memories of the future
Presence and present converged
Quietly the formation began
In steel strings and salt
I composed the cloth
From pine to snow I spoke
Rising
Reaching for something
And suddenly
Yesterday and tomorrow came to me
In stromatolite
In living stone and staccato notes
I could hear my being
All that ever was and will be
It sounded like rain
Upon wet stone
