THE ABSENCE OF RAIN
Casual Chaos Series
Oil 14x11"
EE Jacks Fine Art

This is an insidious fire
From an old avarice
A moment of humanity lost
Where hands can no longer touch
And lips can no longer teach
How can we see past our covered faces
Our painted hands
You can feel the curfew coming
The declaration of a violation
The quelling of an internal spasm
This is a sign
The revealing of an existential pain
Of a smoldering fed by grief and the absence of rain
Where are you from?
